Clinical Role: Dr Alastair Clark is an active, full-time Medical Aesthetic Practitioner and Medical Director at the Sandton Aesthetic Institute (SAI) in Parkmore, Johannesburg. Practice No. : 1554883.

Expertise & In-Clinic Procedures: Dr Alastair Clark specializes in comprehensive, non-surgical facial balancing. His active clinical treatments include filler volumisation, dynamic neuromuscular modulation with botulinum neurotoxins, non-surgical silhouette thread lifts, IPL, medical-grade lasers, chemical peels, and physical skin restructuring therapies.

Global Injector & Educator: In 2007, he was appointed as one of only twenty international Global Trainers authorized to instruct medical professionals worldwide on advanced aesthetic injection arts and science. He was the first South African to have achieved this. He designs and delivers courses in the disciplines of filler volumisation, neuromuscular manipulation with botulinum neurotoxin.

Industry Leadership: He serves as an Executive Committee member and the President of the Aesthetic and Anti-Ageing Medicine Society of South Africa (AAMSSA). He is also the International Chair of the Complications in Medical Aesthetics Collaborative (CMAC), managing safety outcomes across the industry. He regularly presents live injection masterclasses at world congresses like ⁠IMCAS, Paris.

International Expertise

Dr Clark has presented and given live demonstrations at numerous international congresses in Europe, Asia and South Africa. He has served as the Head National Key Opinion Leader for Teosyal Fillers from Teoxane, Geneva; Dysport botulinum toxin from Ipsen; Silhouette Soft threadlifts of Sinclair Laboratories. He also served as International Key Opinion Leader and Trainer for Restylane. His interpretation of the aesthetic need and facial assessment, combined with advanced injection and moulding techniques yield previously unattained results for non-surgical techniques.

Dr Clark has developed an approach to static (hypertonic) and dynamic (hyperkinetic) wrinkles, which greatly simplifies the use of toxin and fillers to achieve the patient’s desired goal. He uses his technique to treat anything from inexpensive lines and wrinkles to Lip enhancement, Nasoplasty (nose), Cheek bone augmentation, Eyebrow ridge augmentation, Chin and jaw revision, Ear lobe rejuvenation, or complete facial treatments.

Dr Clark practised as a general practitioner for 30 years and previously in surgery and surgical specialities for three years. He was a Consultant to the South African Brain Research Institute during this time. He appeared numerous times on television and on radio phone in programmes and has published a number of journal articles on alcoholism and detoxification.

Honorary lecturer at Wits Medical School

He is an honorary lecturer at Wits Medical School. 

He has completed the Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology’s Advanced Course in Diabetes Care, with distinction, and the Foundation for Professional Development’s course in Practice Management.
