Platelet Rich Plasma In’s & Outs

PRP Therapy (Platelet Rich Plasma) is the most natural form of Skin Rejuvenation treatment on the market today.

When treating the skin for ultimate rejuvenation & to turn the clock back to that of your youth – a key consideration is to ensure that the result is as natural as possible. This is only possible when using the client’s own cells as part of the treatment… the scientific reasons for this are numerous.

A PRP Recap

For those unaware of the treatment cycle, PRP Therapy is the process of reinjecting your own plasma back into the skin to reinvigorate cellular health.

The principle of reinjecting platelet rich plasma as a treatment has been long used in sports injury treatment – the ability of stem cells to hasten healing is proven. Stem cells essentially replace damaged cells & regenerate previously impaired cellular function.

As such, when treating skin ageing with platelet rich plasma, we are essentially treating skin age as an injury that requires healing.

We want to replace damaged skin cells that are showing signs of age with new young unblemished cells that behave as if you were 15-years younger.

  1. Step one, we take a vile of clients’ blood.
  2. Step two, we spin the blood at high-speed to separate the platelets.
  3. Step three, we siphon the platelets & mix them with nutrients that are necessary for your specific skin requirements.
  4. Then, finally we reinject the plasma in a grid pattern into the skin.

What happens on a cellular level post PRP therapy?

The basis of injecting plasma into your skin is to reverse the visible signs of ageing.

The benefits of undergoing the treatment are two-fold.

First – the injection technique of multiple injections in a grid pattern throughout the treatment area (face, neck, décolleté) kick-starts The Healing Cascade & the treatment area is flooded with collagen. This alone will create a more supple, fresh & vibrant skin complexion.

Second – by injecting Platelet Rich Plasma you are supplying your skin with cells capable of morphing into cells that replace damaged or dying cells. Imagine being able to remove your fatigued skin cells that form the building block of your visible age & replacing them with cells that are plump, stable & healthy similar to those of your youth… That is what we are doing when we use PRP Therapy as a skin rejuvenation treatment.

They key is understanding why we want to use platelet rich plasma. Remember, Platelet rich plasma contains hundreds of growth factors. Within the body they are the first responders to assist with immediate wound healing in the event of injury. This regenerative capability is what we are tapping into during Skin Rejuvenation treatments. We are signalling to the body that your ageing skin cells requiring healing.

Then, in addition to being regenerative, platelets also attract stem cells. Stem cells are not only capable of aiding in repair of dead or dying cells, but they also multiply rapidly. This means your skin benefits from an instant refreshment of young cells to prolong the anti-ageing benefits.

PRP Therapy Treatments

PRP Treatments do not take long and apart from some mild swelling post-procedure each treatment session will not interfere with your daily diary. In most cases a single treatment is all that will be required to reverse visible signs of ageing, reduce fine lines & wrinkles, plus rejuvenate your skin for a youthful & glowing complexion.
