The everlasting foundation treatments

During the winter your face is in focus, yes there are other areas that will definitely benefit from treatment in the colder months (such as Body Shaping and Laser Hair Removal ) but by way of visibility your facial features are highlighted in Winter.

At SAI we focus on holistic treatments based around annual treatment cycles to maintain minimal treatments monthly to combat seasonality and chronographic ageing as it happens, or before it becomes visible.

As we age we understand that certain areas are common with reference to visible age. We all get frown lines and our lips lose volume and shape, and we have learnt how to target these areas using foundation treatments with proven safety and success (over two decades).

This month we are specifically posting about Botulinum Toxin and Dermal Fillers.

Nasolabial Folds

These line on either side of the nose and extending toward the mouth are created by a loss of volume and slackening of the facial tendons. This is gravity working to defy your age. The treatment of Nasolabial Folds is as old as Dermal Fillers – this was one of the first indications for HA Dermal Fillers and a host of studies exist to prove the efficacy of the treatment.

There are multiple injection techniques and modern Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Dermal Fillers are key to the treatment. In most cases we select a highly viscous HA Filler product and inject the Filler below the Nasolabial fold to fill the winkle from the inside out. Essentially a single treatment is all you need to minimize the visibility of these lines. The result is a smooth transition from the nose into the cheek that is visibly associated with plump, youthful skin.

Glabellar Lines

This deep groove between the eyebrows is very much associated with age and is the result of mobile muscles that show expression in our eyes. The ideal treatment for the Glabellar is to inject droplets of Botulinum Toxin into the muscle to stop the overuse of the muscle at the root of the problem. The wrinkle is created by the flexing muscle so by stopping that specific reaction we can minimise the visibility of the wrinkle. Simple.

The key to the treatment is to offer tested injection sites so as not to create a blank expressionless eye area but rather maintain all other natural movement in the eyes and stabilising the Glabellar contraction.

This protocol is a base treatment for 90% of all SAI Botulinum toxin Clients because it is proven, repeatable and offers safe, predictable results.

Volume in the Lips

Due to the loss of HA via natural degradation, we all lose lip volume as we age. Not all SAI Clients want pouting lips and lucky for them there are alternatives that include multiple methods of injecting HA Dermal Fillers to correct thin lips and maintain luscious, natural lips of different shapes and profiles.

Depending on your need Dr Clark at SAI can either reintroduce volume by selecting a modern HA Dermal Filler best suited for your lips, or by recreating defined lip lines.

Reintroducing volume is fantastic for those who have lost substantial volume and need a more aggressive solutions, but many will benefit from a lip line definition treatment.

By simply creating more visible contours of the mouth we create the appearance of volume without changing the shape of the mouth. In our youth we all had very defined lips lines, so in recreating this factor we create the appearance of youth without having the appearance having ‘work done’.

Lip Rejuvenations are a foundation HA Dermal Filler treatment that has stood the test of time because there is nothing out there that has surpassed the results.

Corners of the mouth

This is once again gravity defying our visible age. The corners of the lips face downward pressure from the Nasolabial Folds and also get pulled by the jowl in the lower jawline. Yes, by targeting the jowl and Nasolabial Fold you will make an impact on the sagging corners of the mouth but even so, a tried a trusted dual treatment exists to ensure you an congruent lip contour.

By carefully injecting Botulinum toxin into the area we can release any tension causing the corners to sag. Followed up by HA Dermal Filler injections into the deep dermis we prop the corners of the mouth up to adjust the downward corners and recreate the even lips that we recognise as youthful.

Aged Skin

Of the more modern treatments using a highly specialised HA Dermal Filler, Skin Boosters is one of our favourite. Winter is particularly harsh on skin dehydration but loss of Collagen and HA in our skin due to age hastens dehydration year on year. This compounding problem creates crêpey skin, dry skin and lifeless skin. Skin Boosters are an ingenious solution to the problem.

Micro-particles of HA Dermal Fillers are injected into the deep dermis over the entire face to reintroduce a deep skin hydration.
