Key take away… Patient Safety

The 16th Aesthetic & Anti-Aging Medicine World Congress – AMWC, was held between April 4 – 7, 2018 in Monte-Carlo. This is the second major conference on the aesthetics calendar & provides opportunity for doctors & global brands to swop ideas, train one another & build upon each other’s technical abilities.

A key takeaway from this year’s event was the over-riding theme of patient safety. Yes, new products were launched & new techniques were learned but it is clear that the influx of untrained doctors to the world of aesthetic medicine can create unequal level of treatments. This of course can lead to increased risk for the patient.

Dr Clark Endorsed

Dr Clark of SAI is a global leader in aesthetic medicine & he represents a number of international brands including Head National Key Opinion Leader for Teosyal Dermal Fillers, Dysport botulinum toxin, Silhouette Soft thread lifts & has previously served as international KOL & trainer for Restylane. With such a resume it is no wonder the global community has welcomed his support toward improved patient safety.

Aesthetic medicine is often looked upon as the ‘playground’ for doctors but with science backed products & years of technique training behind the industry there is a clear divide between clinics with a knowledge & desire to treat the patient for ongoing & positive results vs untrained doctors with an eye on profit.

Those attending AMWC 2018 are surely the converted, visiting abroad to learn new skills with the focus on patient safety. We highly recommend to always check the credentials of your doctor practicing aesthetic medicine.
